FOREST BACKGROUND
This retired client wanted a backdrop created for his HO scale model train room. Given specific guidelines on where to paint, the model train layout was built below and allowed for a good integration.
LION KING
Often called a 'serene' space, this 14' long wall was created based on some favorite characters. Thousands of blades of grass were individually airbrushed to give the illusion of depth. Character elements were painted in a small space between a closet and a door, and used black pinstripe tape and solid colour fills to create the cell animation feel.
Dolphin
Painted for the client's daughters' 16th birthday, this dolphin fantasy was a real hit. Using multiple hand masks and creating illusions of distance added to the mystique.
Hidden Jungle
Created for Aquatopia in Antwerp, Belgium, this digital mural was created from nine supplied stock forest images with the brief: "We want it to look like 'green hell'".
The digital file was sent and printed on wallpaper. Five "porthole" windows were installed to allow visitors to see inside small terrariums with live critters.
Stock images of seven creatures (originally on white backgrounds) were integrated into the scene for discovery by the visitors to the exhibit.
Fairy themed room
This client's daughter loves fairies, and wanted enlarged elements painted within the space to make her feel like she was a size of a fairy. Gold and silver foil are applied for additional shine. Over-sized flowers and other enlarged critters are painted around the room creating a world of wonder.
Chill-out
These days, wall vinyl artwork is available of favorite characters.
Instead of recreating what already exists, paint the environment around the vinyl to integrate the vinyl into the existing space.
It makes for a less expensive, quicker project.
